Slaughterhouse-Five – Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

Having read this book during a beach vacation, “Slaughterhouse Five” has been a perfectly short, yet impactful read. The writing style was one of a kind, which left you perplexed in the beginning and wondering what kind of a book you have stumbled across and whether it’s worth getting through it or not…

As the story advanced though, you got more and more used to it, starting to grasp its significance, its originality.

All in all, the author successfully tackled the subject of the inexplicable circumstances of having lived through war and the attempts of trying to put such an experience on paper. I’ve been touched by it and have appreciated the writing a lot, equalling in a strong suggestion for reading if you want to experience some of Vonnegut’s writing for the first time.
